Corten steel is an alloy steel, a group of steel alloys developed to eliminate the need for paint, and to form a stable form of rust after several years of exposure to the weather. One of the most famous weather resistant steels is the Corten steel.
When referring to cortenium steel, it reflects two properties that distinguish it from carbon steel (CS), ie, cor corrosion resistance from copper (Cu) and tensile strength (tensile strength). Its high mechanical properties.

Corten steel was originally designated A242 (Cor-Ten A) standard code from the international standard group ASTM. The newer grades ASTM A588 (Cor-Ten B) and A606 for thin sheets. All these are manufactured and used in common.
